Filling the Annular Gap of a Steel Tank

The space between the outer and inner wall of a steel liner tank had to filled with a rigid foam. WEBAC 2260, a self-expanding PU foam, specially developed for cavity filling, was injected through drilled holes from the inside of the tank, in the inner steel wall.

The reaction heat developed by the PU foam was used to visualize the process of the injection by means of a thermal imaging camera.

The pictures show the filling with the help of a 2K injection pump as well as the heat display during the filling.
