Filling of Voids and Cavities
Filling and stabilization of cavities, washed-out voids and gaps – mostly using expanding reaction resins
If rock mass has been washed out by flowing water, void filling is usually combined with a sealing measure. Highly expanding products are preferable, their strength is in most cases secondary.
As no high strength requirements exist, (highly) expanding injection materials such as
- PU foam resins, often in combination with cement injections,
- Silicate foam resins
are the preferred choice to increase the stability of the surrounding overburden or the ground.
Void filling is often accompanied by umbrella injection, rock mass stabilization or ground stabilization measures.
